Molendinar Community Campus

Continuing our work with locally based community development trust, Royston Road project in North Glasgow, Fablevision has a service level agreement with Culture and Sport Glasgow to support the development of a cultural planning model in practice in North East Glasgow. This contract includes the delivery of cultural planning training to representatives of locally based organisations like members of the North Glasgow Arts Regeneration Network which North Glasgow SIP funded Fablevision over three years to support into being. The Molendinar Community Campus proposal emerged from Royston Road Project's Imagined Space consultation process. The community campus is now being developed in stages by a cross sectoral, inter-agency steering group of local authority and community partnership representatives and is being co-ordinated by Royston Road Project:

Stage 1 - The Mill: a cultural hub to complement the sports hub around the molendinar community centre providing rehearsal, office, training, studio and performance space for locally based cultural social enterprises. The Mill the vision for new use of the Church of Scotland owned building in Langdale Street, Provanmill

Stage 2 - landscaping and bio diversity with Kelvinclyde Greenspace creating a coherent and linked development of public space, informal sports and play area development

Stage 3 - lighting design informed by artist led imagined space process

Stage 4 - Littlehill: an enterprise hub comprising office and retail space
to complement the sports and cultural hubs based in the empty Littlehill
primary school premises.

In January 2008, Fablevision was honoured to accompany representatives of Royston Road Project to London's House of Lords where the project was
awarded a British Urban Regeneration Award.
