Fablevision, The Paisley Development Trust and Renfrewshire CVS have been working together in a unique partnership to commemorate the worst cinema disaster in Scottish history - The Glen Cinema Disaster. In 2004 Fablevision worked with the local community to create commemorative projects for the forthcoming 75th Anniversary. The project paid respect and offered a proper sense of closure for those closely associated with the disaster.

In December 2004, Fablevision and the Paisley Development Trust collaborated on their second Glen Cinema project. The Glen Cinema Lantern Procession brought together local children in lantern making workshops. Local people gathered in County Square for the beginning of the procession, which led to Paisley Abbey.

At the abbey, a service was held for the children who died in the disaster and Danny Kyle’s song The Glen Cinema Disaster was performed by folk singer Carol Laula.

The project has received a lot of media attention and was included in the BBC documentary series’ Restoration and ExS.
