This month (with support from their own MSP, Frank McAveety) participants from Fablevision's Alien8 programme in Shettleston/Tollcross visited the Scottish Parliament and met with Justice Minister, Cathy Jamieson. The visiting young film crew interviewed the minister on camera and asked probing questions about approaches to crime/antisocial behaviour as well as her views on the level of commitment and support for developing the aspirations of young people locally. Cathy Jamieson was very supportive and offered advice on how best they can take their project forward. She emphasised the importance of them building on the success they have already achieved and working hard to take things to the next stage. The young representatives from Glasgow left the meeting feeling encouraged that they have the commitment of government bodies and local authorities to provide on-going support for the project and their work for community cohesion.
